Troopers Participate in "Battle of the Badges"
Muncie – This afternoon from 2p.m.to 4 p.m. three troopers from the Pendleton Post participated in the Muncie Chick-fil-A’s annual “Battle of the Badges” competition, which pitted local fire and police departments against each other in lemon squeezing contests, and gave the public a chance to come out and meet the officers and firemen that serve their community.
Fire trucks and police cars were on display, along with a K-9 demonstration by the Anderson Police Department. Officers and firemen interacted with kids and adults alike, by participating in games and also helping to serve food.
Pendleton District Troopers Scott Keegan, Ryan Davis and Mark Hanna were on hand to “try their hand” at the competition, and also to answer questions and talk to kids. It was a fun time had by all, and in the end, the police prevailed in the lemon squeezing competition.
Trooper Scott Keegan summed it up by saying “It was a great time had by all, as families got to watch a little friendly competition, and also got to meet the policemen and firemen that serve their communities.” Policemen from ISP, Anderson and Muncie participated, along with Firemen from Muncie and Cowan.
