Canyon Country West, Zone 7, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for the week of 04/13/2015 to 04/19/2015.

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

An arson occurred near the 27100 block of Honby Avenue.  While the Los Angeles County Fire Department was extinguishing a small brush fire the Fire Captain observed a suspect attempting to light another fire to some nearby brush approximately 100 yards away.  A search for the suspect met with negative results.  This incident is currently under investigation by Los Angeles County Arson and Explosives detectives. 

A residential burglary occurred near the 26800 block of Claudette Street.  Person(s) unknown pried open the victims garage entry door and stole items from within the vehicle parked inside.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives. 

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 27500 block of Hidaway Avenue.  Person(s) unknown shattered the victims front driver side window of her vehicle and stole her purse from within.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives. 

A grand theft auto occurred near the 19700 block of Azure Field Drive.  A suspect was seen on video taking the victims vehicle which was parked in front of his residence.  A short time later the victim received notice that his vehicle was parked nearby approximately a half mile away with the keys still in it.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives. 

A shoplifting occurred near the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Drive.  One suspect was arrested for taking store items and leaving the location with no attempt to pay for the items.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.
