Redwood City Police investigate alleged attempted kidnapping and determine the story was fabricated by the victim.

Update:

Redwood City detectives conducted follow-up investigation regarding this incident and re-interviewed the victim. The victim admitted she fabricated the story and the attempted kidnapping incident never occurred. The victim apparently fabricated the story to gain attention from family members.

Officers are investigating an attempted kidnapping which occurred at approximately 9:30 P.M. this evening, in the area of Clinton St. and Lincoln Av. in Redwood City.

The adult female victim was removing articles from her vehicle when she was grabbed by an unknown suspect. The victim yelled and fought off the suspect, who fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle driven by another subject.
