Soap Lake man arrested for shooting rifle inside and outside of his home
SOAP LAKE, Wash. (19APR2015) - A 48-year-old Soap Lake man is in the Grant County Jail today after deputies found he fired multiple rounds from a rifle inside and outside his home earlier today.
Around 5:45 a.m., deputies answered a call for shots fired in the 16000 block of Road B.5-Northeast, about three miles southeast of Soap Lake. Deputies arriving in the area were flagged down by the suspect’s wife who had fled the scene. She told deputies her husband, Robert C. Wiley, was armed and firing a rifle within and around the home.
Deputies called for the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team to respond, but Wiley surrendered without incident prior to their arrival. Nobody was hurt. Wiley and his wife were the only occupants in the home.
Wiley is lodged in the Grant County Jail for investigation of second degree reckless endangerment. Officials continue to look into why Wiley acted in such a way.
