Meth Lab Trash-A Real Danger
Delaware County – Today was just another day for the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad. After driving county roads and walking creek and river banks in Delaware County, the final total was 23 plastic bottles located with toxic chemicals used in the manufacture of Methamphetamine.
The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Section wants to remind citizens that this discarded Meth lab trash contains chemicals that are toxic, flammable, corrosive, and acidic.
In addition officers found other Meth lab trash, such as stripped lithium batteries and Sudafed pill blister packs. With warm spring weather expected this weekend, Pendleton District Meth Suppression Trooper Rich Clay wants to remind the public to be vigilant while participating in outdoor activities.
“If you’re out mushroom hunting or fishing, or if your civic group is cleaning a roadside, beware! Things you should look for are discarded backpacks or gym bags; liquid filled plastic drink bottles with white residue; a large amount of discarded coffee filters or discarded liquid drain opener bottles. If you encounter any of these items, don’t disturb them. Call us and let us check it out”
Anyone with information about illegal drug use is encouraged to call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756.
