Volunteers needed to help plant trees for Arbor Day next Friday (April 24)!

The City of Chula Vista will be hosting a tree planting event on Friday, April 24 to celebrate Arbor Day! The event will take place at Salt Creek Community Park (2710 Otay Lakes Road) from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Community members interested in participating should contact Sam Oludunfe, the City's Urban Forester, at 619-397-6006.

Arbor Day (Latin for "tree day"), which was first held in 1872, recognizes the numerous benefits of trees such as saving energy, improving air quality, protecting water resources, providing wildlife habitat, beautifying neighborhoods, and contributing to the overall health of our community. Chula Vista has been certified as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation for over 20 years.
