0910 Hours: Officer Knutson investigated an auto burglary on Joaquin Murieta Ave. Entry was via a window smash.
1044 Hours: NPD units assisted CDCR parole agent who had a parolee flee from him on Albyn Ct. A 36-year-old male from Newark was arrested for a parole violation.
1311 Hours: Officer Fredstrom located an unoccupied stolen vehicle on Redeker Pl.
1626 Hours: Officers responded to the Aloft Hotel, 8200 Gateway Blvd. to assist hotel staff with the eviction of three rooms due to the credit cards being used to pay for the rooms were not valid. Officer Fredstrom arrested three suspects, a 29-year-old male from San Ramon for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property; a 30-year-old female from Union City for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen property, identity theft and probation violation; and a 34-year-old-male from Union City for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property.
1838 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated a residential burglary on Cotton Avenue. Entry was via a backdoor to the residence.
2156 Hours: Officer Taylor investigated an auto burglary on the 34900 block of Newark Blvd.

On April 16, 2015 around 0731 a.m. a 79 year old male, who resides in Newark, was crossing the street of Cedar Blvd. and Forbes Dr. when he was struck by a 4 door silver Acura traveling north on Cedar Blvd. The 79 year old Pedestrian was transported to a local trauma center with severe injuries. The driver of the Acura is cooperating with this investigation. The Police Department is seeking any person who might have witnessed this collision to contact Officer Allum with the department’s Traffic Division at (510) 578-4922 or (510) 578-4237

1347 Hours: Officer Norvell investigated a theft from a vehicle in the parking lot on Jarvis Ave.
1450 Hours: Officer Horst investigated the theft of a vehicle on Joaquin Murieta Ave.
