Press Release: Burglary, Hit and Run. On June 15, 2014 a burglary of a residence that was occupied and under construction was interrupted when the suspect was confronted by the homeowner. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle and struck another motor vehicle during the escape. There were no reported injuries and the identity of the suspect was unknown and he remained at large.
In March of 2015 a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle used in the burglary and hit and run was observed by Los Altos Police Sergeant Scott McCrossin. Further investigation determined that the vehicle and driver were involved in the June 2014 burglary and hit and run. The suspect was identified as San Jose resident ROBERT JOHN MORALES, DOB: 04/08/1980. The Los Altos Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Morales and on 04/14/15 he surrendered to the Santa Cara County Sheriff’s Office.
