New Troopers On Patrol In Versailles District After Receiving Their Cars

Versailles – Three new troopers are now patrolling the roads in the Versailles district after receiving their police cars.

Probationary Officer Nicholas Albrecht, Probationary Officer Chad Snyder and Probationary Officer Jacob Tolle are currently performing road patrol duties in the Versailles district after being issued their state police cars on Tuesday April 14, 2015 during a ceremony in Indianapolis. The probationary troopers successfully completed three months of on-the-job training with a series of experienced troopers and were each awarded the keys to their patrol car Tuesday morning by Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter.

The three troopers were among the other members of the Indiana State Police 74th Recruit Academy who graduated on December 23, 2014 after 23 weeks of intense training and instruction. While at the academy, the officers received 929 hours of instruction that included criminal and traffic laws, firearms, crash investigations, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics and a host of other subjects related to modern policing. They will put those skills to use going forward on solo patrol while working along with veteran troopers.

Pictured with the Probationary Troopers are Lt. Ray Otter, Commander of Versailles District (left) and First Sergeant Matt Burkhardt, Assistant District Commander.
