INCIDENT: Carjacking and Armed Robbery Arrest
DATE: April 16, 2015
SUSPECT: Quantavius Favors
CHARGES: Hijacking of Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery, Theft by Receiving, Possession of Firearm During Commission of a Crime
On April 8, 2015 at approximately 2:15 am, Marietta Officers responded to the parking lot of 1255 Franklin Road for an armed robbery in progress. The investigation revealed that the victim was walking to her vehicle when she was approached by several suspects. One of the suspects, later identified as Quantavius Favors, produced a handgun and demanded her purse and vehicle keys. The victim complied and the suspects left with her vehicle and purse as well as another vehicle they originally arrived in.
As the investigation continued, both vehicles were eventually recovered. The Marietta Police Forensic Unit spent hours processing both vehicles for evidence. The evidence that was recovered and the ensuing investigation was able to positively identify Favors as one of the suspects involved.
The investigation also revealed that these suspects may possibly be involved in a crime spree spreading over several jurisdictions in the metro Atlanta area. Marietta Investigators are currently working with those jurisdictions and additional charges and arrests could be pending.
