Torrance teacher to be charged with multiple counts of lewd acts involving children 
On Wednesday, April 15, 2015, Torrance Police Detectives culminated a three month investigation with the assistance of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and arrested a 47- year- old male on multiple counts of child annoyance and lewd acts involving children.
Thomas Joseph Snider, of Torrance, turned himself into Torrance Detectives without incident. Snider, who is a teacher and wrestling coach at Torrance High School, has been on administrative leave from the school district while the investigation was being conducted.
Detectives began their investigation in January of 2015 after allegations of sexual misconduct had been made by several students. Torrance Detectives conducted a lengthy and detailed investigation before the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for review.
At this time, Snider has been charged with 33 felony counts of lewd acts upon a child and eight misdemeanor counts of child annoyance. Snider’s bail has been set at $900,000.
This incident is being investigated under the command and direction of Captain Rod Irvine of the Special Operations Bureau and the assistance of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
