Seven graduate from Grant County reserve officer academy

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. (15APR2015) – Seven candidates from two counties graduated April 14 from the reserve officer academy hosted by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The class started the first week of November 2014, and included 22 weeks of instruction on topics including patrol procedures, evidence law and handling procedures, traffic enforcement, collision investigation, report writing, communication skills, emergency vehicle operations, criminal law, and search and seizure.

In all, the candidates completed 330 hours of classroom and hands-on training. They all completed the final exam as required and administered by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office will offer another reserve academy tentatively scheduled to begin in January 2016. GCSO is continually accepting applications, with reserve recruiting selection scheduled for late summer or early fall, 2015.
