UPDATE: The on-scene officer has advised that Canyon Drive is now open and traffic flow is returning to normal.  The accident was triggered when a truck tractor driver made an unsafe lane change and hit a white Nissan's back left side, causing it to spin, strike the front of the truck again, and then strike the guard rail.  The driver of the car is not seriously injured, the truck driver was not injured.      

Originally posted to Nixle: Drivers may wish to avoid the northbound lanes of Canyon Drive from the area of Hillside to Georgia. APD officers checked out with a major accident at Canyon and Georgia at 7:57 AM, and four APD units, AES, and at least one ambulance have responded. Initial information is that there have been no serious injuries and one person transported to the hospital. The number of vehicles involved is not yet known. Officers have called for a wrecker and the area may be cleared in the next half hour to hour.
