On Sunday April 12th at 7:03pm, APD officers were sent to the V&M Discount near 10th and S Adams on a personal robbery that just occurred. Upon arrival officers located the victim a 22 B/M near Elwood Park. The victim stated he was hanging out with a few friends, when one of the acquaintances asked about going inside and playing video games. The victim declined and the acquaintance then pulled out a black semi auto pistol and demanded money from the victim. The victim now being in fear for his life took out his wallet and handed it over to the suspect. The suspect left and the victim called the police. The victim was able to give a location of where the suspect might be and officers located the suspect in the 1200 block of SW 11th. The suspect was taken into custody and a search warrant was written in attempt to locate the weapon. After executing the search warrant, officers did recover a semi auto handgun from the suspect’s apartment and it was seized as evidence. The suspect is identified as Taurean Savaar Johnson B/M 31. Johnson was arrested and booked into the Potter County Corrections Center on a charge of Aggravated Robbery. The victim was not injured in the incident.
