Update #LASD Armed Barricaded Suspect, 500 Block East Moorehaven Drive, Carson

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Special Weapons Team, along with Carson Station deputies and LASD Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) members, are continuing their efforts of bringing a peaceful resolution to the Armed Barricaded Suspect on the 500 block of East Moorehaven Drive, Carson.

At approximately 6:34 a.m., Carson Station deputies responded to the residence regarding a “check the vicinity” call for service. During the deputies’ investigation, the sound of a gunshot was heard coming from inside of the residence.

One person is believed to be inside the residence, however it is unknown if there may be more.

Negotiators of LASD CNT are actively making attempts of establishing communication within the residence, as several phone calls continue to be made.

Evacuations of the neighboring residences continue in every effort to maintain the safety of the residents and community.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Special Weapons Team has responded to the 500 block of East Moorehaven Drive, Carson, to assist Carson Sheriff’s Station deputies regarding an Armed Barricaded Suspect.

SEB deputies have assumed command of the tactical response and Crisis Negotiation Team personnel are en route to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.

Surrounding homes have been evacuated for the safety of the residents.
