Suspect Charged In Henry County Death Investigation

New Castle – On the morning of 4/2/15, around 8:30 a.m., Henry County Dispatch received a call from a fisherman who said he had discovered a body in the area of Province Pond in northern Henry County. Province Pond is an Indiana Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Area located west of Sulphur Springs on CR 125 W, just south of US 36.

Troopers and deputies were called to the scene, along with Indiana State Police Crime Scene Technicians. Investigators identified the body that day as that of Kirsten P. Sidwell, age 22 of New Castle.  An autopsy was performed in Indianapolis on Saturday, April 4th, to determine the cause of death.

Further investigation into Kirsten Sidwell’s death has led investigators of the Henry County Major Investigations Team to arrest Anthony Dailey, age 37 of New Castle.  Dailey was officially charged this afternoon with Felony Murder, and Level 6 Felony Abuse of a Corpse, in connection with Sidwell’s death. He is being held in the Henry County Jail.

This release was prepared for the Henry County Major Investigations Team at their request.  The Major Investigations Team is made up of investigators from the Indiana State Police, Henry County Sheriff’s Department, the New Castle Police Department and the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office. Any further questions about the case should be referred to the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office.
