Press Release: Suspects booked for auto burglaries and auto theft in Los Altos 
On April 7, 2015 at approximately 8:34 a.m., Los Altos Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of Ben Roe Drive to investigate the report of two automotive burglaries. At the time, the suspects were unknown and had gained entry into the two vehicles and stolen miscellaneous items.
Shortly after, Officers responded to the report of a stolen vehicle on Marinovich Way. The victim’s vehicle had been stolen from the driveway of their residence during the morning hours. A member of the Santa Clara County Auto Theft Task Force later notified Los Altos Police that he had located the stolen vehicle in the city of San Jose.
The vehicle had been occupied by two suspects; Jose Valdez and Jonathan Torres. Both suspects are residents of San Jose and also had outstanding warrants. Stolen property located in the vehicle linked the suspects to the aforementioned crimes in Los Altos. Both suspects have been booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
The Los Altos Police Department would like to remind residents to always lock their vehicles and never leave personal items in plain view.
