On April 8, 2015 at approximately 7:33 am Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in the 4000 block of Rio Grande. Upon their arrival they discovered a 2010 Dodge Charger driven by Michael Anthony Fuentes W/M, 18 had been east bound on Rio Grande at a high rate of speed. He lost control of the Charger, left the roadway, struck a dumpster, continued on, and struck a parked Ford E-150 van. The driver was taken to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol/drugs are factors in the collision. The suspect was not wearing a seat belt. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
