APD officers serve narcotic search warrant and recover 5 1/2 pounds of meth, One arrested. Investigation continues.
Amarillo Police Motors Units stopped a 2008 Ford PU for traffic violations in the 3400 Block k of SE 16th. A search of the vehicle was conducted after a K-9 was called and alerted to the vehicle. Officers did locate approximately 1 ½ pounds of methamphetamine in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Osfaldo Baldemar Mejia WM 37 of Amarillo was booked into the Potter Co Detention Center and charged with Manufacture/Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 over 400 gms.
Continued investigations resulted in a narcotic search warrant being executed at 1933 S. Seminole where 28 grams of cocaine were located in the house along with drug paraphernalia. An additional 4 pounds of methamphetamine was located in a dumpster near the residence. No arrest were made from this residence at this time. Officers also searched a residence located at 7410 Alexandria in Amarillo where a large amount of US Currency was recovered.
Street value on all the narcotics recovered is approximately $200,000
Additional investigations are being conducted by the APD Narcotics Unit with additional arrests pending.
