On March 18, 2015 at approximately 3:31 p.m., the Los Banos Police Department responded to the 500 Block of Stonewood Drive to investigate the report of a fight.
Officers contacted four juvenile male victims who reported they were approached by two older juveniles, offering to sell them marijuana. When the victims refused to purchase the marijuana, the pair of suspects assaulted one of the victims and robbed him of a portable electronic device. The suspects fled the area on foot immediately following the robbery.
On March 31, 2015, Detectives identified the two suspects, ages 16 and 17, from Los Banos; both are documented gang members. On April 2, 2015, the 17-year-old suspect was arrested while at school and booked into the Merced County Juvenile Hall Facility. The suspect was cooperative with Detectives during the investigation and has been charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime and participation in a criminal street gang.
The second suspect was found to have been booked into the Juvenile Hall Facility on March 25, 2015, for an un-related robbery case. Detectives have contacted the second suspect and he has also been charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime and participation in a criminal street gang regarding this incident.
