Putnamville District Secretary Promoted

Putnamville—On March 29th, 2015, Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter promoted Putnamville District Secretary IV Christine A. Schurick to Evidence Clerk III at the Putnamville Post. Mrs. Schurick received her promotion through a competitive interview process.

In her new capacity, Schurick will be clerically responsible for the incoming and outgoing criminal evidence items submitted and held at the Putnamville District.

Mrs. Schurick is a 12 ½ year civilian veteran of the Indiana State Police. She was initially hired in 2002 at the former Terre Haute Post as a receptionist. In 2006 she was promoted to Criminal Investigations Secretary IV at the Terre Haute Post. In 2010, after the closure of the Terre Haute Post, she was transferred to the Bloomington ISP District as the Criminal Investigations Secretary. In 2011, she was transferred to the Putnamville District and served as both the Criminal Investigations Secretary and the District Secretary covering both criminal investigation clerical duties as well as district payroll duties.

In 2008, Schurick received an ISP Meritorious Service Award and in 2014 was awarded the ISP Community Service Award.

Prior to her hiring by the ISP, Schurick served seven years as a dispatcher for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and five years as a dispatcher for the Brazil Police Department. She is a graduate of the former Staunton High School and currently resides in rural Clay County with her husband.
