The deceased in an overnight in-custody death in Warner has been identified as 33-year-old David Cody Lynch, of Warner. He was involved in a traffic accident just before midnight Friday night. When a Warner officer arrived at Highway 64 near 158 Street south, Lynch assaulted the officer. The officer deployed his taser. After Lynch was handcuffed, the officer noticed Lynch was not breathing. An ambulance transported Lynch to Eastar Health System in Muskogee where he was pronounced dead. The officer who was assaulted also was treated at that hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The OSBI investigation continues.
