4/1/15, press release: Aggravated Assault - UPDATE
On April 1, 2015 the Burlington Police Department was called to the report of a disturbance on the Church Street Marketplace. Initial information provided by the caller indicated that two males had assaulted another male. The caller also indicated he thought the victim required medical attention.
Responding officers located the victim unresponsive on the ground near the intersection of Pearl Street. Burlington Fire Department transported the victim to FAHC where he is currently receiving medical care. He is in stable condition at this time.
The suspects were described as two white males, early to mid 20s, tall and “skinny.” One subject was wearing a Chicago Bulls jacket and the other was wearing a grey hoodie. They both were wearing dark clothing which was described as "grungy" in appearance. Last seen walking away from the area west on Pearl Street.
The reason behind the assault is still under investigation.

4/2/2015 UPDATE:
Members of the Burlington Police Department continued the investigation into the above Aggravated Assault into the early morning hours of April 2, 2015. With the assistance of several witnesses from the community, the suspects in the assault were identified and arrested. The suspects were identified as: Joshua Garvey 19 of Burlington, VT, Alex Labonte 21 of Fairfax, VT.
Garvey and Labonte were charged with Aggravated Assault:
A person found guilty of Aggravated Assault -13 VSA 1024 (a)(1), shall be imprisoned for not more than 15 years or fined not more than $10,000.00, or both.
Both Subjects were lodged at Chittenden Regional Correction Facility on a lack of $10,000 bail.
The victim is in stable condition and being treated at the UVM Medical Center.
Though arrests have been made in this case, the Burlington Police Department is still looking for additional witnesses who may have been present at the time of the assault.
