Community Fire Company of Cornwall is currently having a fund drive. To donate visit www.cornwallfire.net

THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS BEING SENT AT THE REQUEST OF THE COMMUNITY FIRE COMPANY OF CORNWALL BOROUGH. ( CORNWALL'S FIRE DEPARTMENT)

Dear Friends,
The Community Fire Company of Cornwall is conducting a one-time Capital Fund Drive. This drive is solely for the purpose of replacing our twenty-five year old E-One pumper. This engine has served our community well over the years, however, it has been out of service more than it’s been in service this year and the repairs have been costly.
What exactly does a new fire engine cost? Expensive is certainly the word. We expect a new fire engine to cost over $500,000. However, we feel it would be more realistic for the fire company to purchase a used fire engine that is in good condition to serve us for many years to come, at a lower cost than buying a brand new one.
Our firefighters are responding to 200 emergency calls a year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are all volunteering their time to protect you and your family. They do this while also attending weekly trainings, holding fulltime jobs and raising their own families. Aside from being on-call at all times of the day, our members also had to find the time in their busy lives, just like you, to meet specific training standards. With well over 200 hours at a minimum, we have all set a goal and are trained to the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy Standards and at least half are certified nationally. This is something to be proud of, knowing your 100% volunteer fire company exceeds national standards.
We ask that you please consider giving generously to this Capital Fund Drive so we can continue to provide you with the protection you deserve. In terms of a donation amount, we felt we would let it up to you for this purchase we are striving for. What is the 100% VOLUNTEER fire company worth to you? Thank you for your continued support,
