Report Numbers: 15-1675
Occurred Date and Time: Sunday, March 29th 2015
Incident: Alcohol and Tobacco Compliance Check Operation
Location: Petaluma
Summary: On Sunday March 29th 2015, the Petaluma Police Department conducted an alcohol and tobacco compliance check operation. Officers worked with minor decoys that were sent into tobacco and alcohol retail establishments and attempted to make a purchase. The decoys were also positioned in front of some alcohol retail establishments and asked customers if they would purchase alcohol for them. This is one strategy the police department is using to reduce the availability of alcohol and tobacco products to minors and to hold retailers accountable for illegal sales. These operations are conducted through a partnership between the police department and the Healthy Community Consortium and the Petaluma Coalition to Prevent Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Problems, funded through SAMHSA Drug Free Communities federal grant funding. The following subject was arrested: Brandon Lee Belluomini, 26 year old, Petaluma resident, purchased alcohol for a minor at Lucky’s Supermarket at 1000 Petaluma Blvd N. Belluomini was released on a citation to appear
