Incident Summary
On the listed date and time, the victim telephoned the Petaluma Police Department to report that Celeste Vogler had tried to hit him with her vehicle. In addition, the victim reported that Abraham Santos exited the vehicle and pulled out what the victim believed to be a handgun from his waistband. Santos displayed the suspected handgun in a threatening manner. Both Santos and Vogler then fled the area in their vehicle. A vehicle description was given and K-9 Officer Corie Joerger later located the vehicle at Motel 6, Petaluma.
Based on the belief that Santos was in possession of a firearm, several rooms at the hotel had to be evacuated. Volger and Santos later exited their hotel room and were detained without incident. Santos was found to have several misdemeanor arrest warrants and to be on probation.
During the investigation, it was determined that Santos did not have a firearm at the time of the original incident. The item Santos had in his waistband was a large fixed blade knife.
Petaluma Police Department K-9, Jeff, and his handler, Officer Aaron Lindh, were called to assist in searching the hotel room and vehicle for narcotics. During a probation search, K-9 Jeff assisted officers in locating approximately 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine and additional drug paraphernalia.
Volger was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Volger was held on $10,000 bail. Santos was arrested for his arrest warrants, displaying a deadly weapon in a threatening manner, possession of a concealed dirk or dagger, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation. Volger was held on no bail.
