Trooper Stops Vehicle for Reckless Driving

Vermillion County—Yesterday afternoon around 12:30PM, Master Trooper Don Farris observed a Nissan passenger car at a high rate of speed and traveling eastbound on Interstate 74 in Vermillion County. Trooper Farris then confirmed the vehicles speed with his RADAR at a rate of 100 MPH then utilized his VASCAR timing device as he attempted to turn around and catch up to the vehicle. 17 miles and 3 counties later Trooper Farris caught up to the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. His VASCAR showed that the Nissans average speed was 108 MPH which means the vehicle could have reached speeds in excess of 120 MPH during the 17 miles. The driver was cited for Reckless Driving in the Vermillion County Superior Court.
