MJHS Incident

On Thursday, 3/26/15, at about 1114 hours, Martinez Police Officers responded to the Martinez Junior High School for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers were told that a student was stabbed with a knife by another student during an unprovoked attack. The suspect then left the immediate area of the incident and reported what he had done to school staff. The victim reported his injury to a staff member near the area of the attack. The suspect is a 13 year old male, and he was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into Juvenile Hall on charges of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The victim is an 11 year old male. He was transported to a local trauma center by helicopter for a stab wound to his back. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Due to the ages of the individuals, no names are being released. This is an active investigation at this time, and there is no more information available for disclosure.
