On 03/25/2015 Ofc. Werner investigated a retail theft which had occurred at 62 Church Street. Subsequently, media outlets aired surveillance footage of the female suspects capturing them in the act of the crime. As a result of the media coverage the suspects surrendered themselves to law enforcement on the morning of 03/26/2015.
Mercedes Clogston, 20 YOA, of Burlington and a 17 year old female were issued citations to answer to the charge of Retail Theft – Misdemeanor. The Burlington Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in resolving this incident.
