Late this afternoon Burlington Police Administration was contacted by the Vermont State Police regarding an investigation that began today into an alleged domestic assault.
As a result of their preliminary investigation Nathan Harvey, a police officer in Burlington since 2008, has been taken into custody by the State Police. Their investigation is continuing. For investigative integrity, any inquiries regarding the case should be directed to the State Police Public Information Officer.
Harvey was placed on paid administrative leave. Once State Police complete their work a full internal investigation will also be conducted.
