Incident:

On Friday March 20, 2015 at approximately 5:24 PM, the Huntley Police Department responded to a 911 call at 10505 Longfield Drive for a female that was bleeding from the chin. Edward was processed and transported to the McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing. Edward later posted bond and was released from McHenry County Jail.

Despite receiving medical care at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock, Carol died on Monday, March 23 while still undergoing treatment at the hospital. An autopsy was performed on Tuesday, March 24. Preliminary autopsy findings were discussed with the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office and enhanced charges against Edward Hartgraves for First Degree Murder were authorized. Edward was subsequently taken into custody.
