New Castle – A New Castle couple was arrested last evening and DCS removed two children from their home as the result of an ongoing investigation into the manufacture of Methamphetamine.  Last evening around 10 p.m. the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Team served a search warrant at a home located at 751 Kentland Ave.on the north side of New Castle.

As a result of that warrant Joshua Pierce, age 38, and Sally Pierce, age 37 were arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Level 4 Felony and Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, all three Level 6 Felonies.

Division of Child Services was summoned to the scene and two children under the age of fourteen were removed from the home, which resulted in the couple also being charged with two counts of Neglect of a Dependent, Level 6 Felony.

In addition the couple was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia, Class “A” Misdemeanor, and Possession of Marijuana, Class “B” Misdemeanor. They were lodged in the Henry County Jail. 

The Meth Suppression Team was assisted in the investigation by the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office; the Henry County Sheriff’s Department; Henry County Drug Task Force; New Castle Police Department; New Castle EMS and Division of Child Services.
