LPD Free Public Training in April
The Lafayette Police Department is providing free training to the public on “Juveniles and Internet Cyber Safety”. The date and time for this training will be Thursday, April 23rd, at 5:30pm. The training will take place at the Lafayette Police Training Center, 1301 South St. This class will be taught by Detective Mark Pinkard of the LPD Juvenile Detective Division. It is meant for parents of juveniles to increase their awareness of internet and computer usage problems and potential dangers.
The lecture will consist of keeping young people safe from cyberbullying, internet technical terms and abbreviations, social networking sites, chat rooms and instant messaging, blogging and online sexual predators.
