Green Bay police investigate motor vehicle accident involving an on duty officer and another vehicle.
On March 23, 2015 at approximately 6:56pm an officer of the Green Bay Police Department was responding to a call for service travelling south on Military Ave. approaching Bond St. The officer was responding with his emergency lights and sirens activated. The officer approached Bond St. and had a red traffic control signal. As the officer traversed the intersection, a collision occurred with another vehicle that was travelling westbound on Bond St. This vehicle had a green traffic control signal.
The Green Bay Police Department is investigating this accident to better understand exactly what happened. The officer is recovering from his non-life threatening injuries, which at this point is pain and bruising. The driver of the other vehicle, a 23 year old Green Bay resident, is still at a local hospital recovering and it is anticipated that he will be released today.
No further information will be released at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
