Rancho Cucamonga - Deputy Girard and K9 Dare locate a critical missing 17 yo female who had been reported missing

INCIDENT: Critical Missing Juvenile Located
LOCATION: 10800 Block of Wilderness Drive, Rancho Cucamonga
MISSING: 17 Year old female with a medical condition that requires monitoring
SUMMARY:
On Monday, March 23, 2015, at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputy Tony Buscemi was dispatched to a residence in the 10800 block of Wilderness Drive reference a missing juvenile that requires medication regularly. She was last seen wearing shorts, a light shirt, socks, and no shoes. After an extensive search of the residence and the neighborhood, and the outside temperatures dropping, Deputy Buscemi requested the assistance of Sheriff’s Aviation and the Rancho Cucamonga Bloodhound Unit. Sheriff Aviation arrived on scene and conducted an arial check for the female. Deputy Girard and K9 "Dare" arrived, located a scent article from the females bedroom, and "Dare" was deployed. Dare picked up the scent and followed it. Dare located the female within a few minutes. She was approximately 1/8 of a mile away from home laying in some bushes. The female was returned to her family in good health and did not require any medical attention.
The Rancho Cucamonga Bloodhound Unit was highly effective and instrumental in the success of locating the missing juvenile.
