Lieutenant Steve Brooks, Public Information Officer

On March 23, 2015 at approximately 3:30 pm, a 12 year old female was waiting for her mother on the steps of the Middletown Methodist Church on Armstrong St. While she was waiting, an elderly male drove up in a black late model Toyota pickup. The male got out of his pickup, opened the tail gate and then asked the juvenile if she needed a ride. When the juvenile told him that she did not need a ride, the male sat down on the stairs next to her. The male subject then grabbed the victim’s wrist and pulled her to her feet. She immediately kicked the male in his shin, which caused him to let go of the victim’s wrist. The male then got into his pickup and left the area.
