Weather Alert
PM snow update…Snow continues across the region and as the intensity has now become moderate to heavy, the million dollar question of how this behaves on pavements will start to get answered. While it may not be covering yet, the heavy intensity does
allow for accum on all surfaces (shaded sidewalks/parking lots first, well-traveled Roads last). Be aware, that we have gotten reports from places both south (Little Egg Harbor) and west (Princeton) where the heavy snow has started covering everything.
We are thinking that the north shore of monmouth is going to cover on pavements the next few hours. Non-paved surfaces accumulate 2-4 inches, with some higher spots. Steady snow ends by 7-10 pm and then there is lingering, much lighter precip at times thru the night (mainly in the form of drizzle / flurries). With temps hovering around 32 or a little below, re-freeze will need to be watched for, but it may not be widespread. Temps in 40s tomorrow.
