Beware of phone scam. Caller ID's self as Alliant Energy & threatens to shut off power if not paid. 
There is a telephone scam that appears to be prevalent in our area. The caller ID's self as Alliant Energy and threatens to shut power off if immediate payment is not made. If you receive a call; hang up and call Alliant Energy to make inquiries about your account. (1-800-255-4268) Do not give out your bank account information over the phone. Alliant Energy does not ask customers to purchase credit cards nor asks for payment over email.
