Victorville- Major Traffic Collision Involving a Motorcycle

INCIDENT: Major Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Eucalyptus Street & Bridle Lane
INVOLVED PARTY #1: Sarah Walters, age 31 of Victorville
INVOLVED PARTY #2: David Burleson, age 44 of Rubidoux
SUMMARY:
On March 17, 2015, at approximately 11:28 p.m., Victorville Deputies were dispatched to a report of an unknown-injury traffic collision that occurred in the area of Eucalyptus Street and Bridle Lane in the City of Victorville.
Through investigation it was discovered a motorcycle, ridden by Burleson, was either stopped or traveling at a slow rate of speed westbound on Eucalyptus Street approaching US Highway 395. A Scion sedan, driven by Walters, was traveling westbound on Eucalyptus Street approaching US Highway 395. The Scion sedan collided with the rear portion of the motorcycle. The collision caused the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries as a result of the traffic collision and was air lifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Scion did not sustain any injuries.
Deputies are still investigating whether speed or alcohol played a factor in this collision.
Eucalyptus Street was closed to traffic in both directions in the area of the collision until approximately 0052 hours. This is an ongoing investigation by the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Anyone with information about the collision is requested to contact Sheriff Service Specialist D.
