Flights at Rick Husband International resuming after police respond to bomb threat call, search planes.
Tonight at 7:29 PM, the Amarillo Emergency Communication Center received a call from a person that stated that he had "placed bombs on airplanes" at Rick Husband International. He also made a statement about coming to Amarillo to shoot people at the airport. APD, TSA, and the Airport Police Dept. responded. The FBI was notified. One plane that was on the ground was searched by the APD bomb team canine, and the passengers re-screened by TSA. One flight that was inbound was diverted to Lubbock, but is now on the way to Amarillo. At this time, operations have resumed and flights are returning to their schedule.
