On Monday, March 16th, 2015, Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Krauszer's Store on Livingston Avenue for a report of a man with a gun. The caller reported that he approached another man to ask a question, when that man pulled a handgun on him and told him to get away. The caller did so, and immediately called police. Area Patrol units arrived in moments and located a suspect matching the description provided by the victim. That suspect was secured, and a loaded handgun was located and recovered. The suspect was identified as Julio Lopez, 24, of North Brunswick. Lopez was taken into custody without incident or injury to anyone. He has been charged with several charges, including Possession of a firearm, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose. He has been lodged at the Middlesex County Department of Corrections in default of bail.

At nearly the same time, several males attempted to rob a juvenile for his bicycle at the McDonald's on Georges Road. Three suspects began to beat on the juvenile for his bike, but fled without it after being spotted. Detectives have information relative to this case and are actively following-up.
