Due to recent shootings and violence in the neighborhood, Oakland Police Area 2 officers from North Oakland Crime Reduction and Community Resource Teams turned attention to narcotic sales investigations in and near the area of 60th Street and Idaho. This morning, at about 11am, those investigations culminated with police from your local neighborhood teams serving two search warrants.

Officers are still on scene but no traffic is blocked.

Our message was clear today to all involved: we want to prevent another shooting from occurring. We want to prevent anyone else from being shot. We want to do everything we can to keep someone from being killed. We are working with neighborhood partners and others to achieve increased safety in the neighborhood.
