BEWARE of Telemarketers who claim to be soliciting for your Local Police. 
Despite what telemarketers will tell you, your West Long Branch Police Department does not derive a benefit from telephone donation calls. A new scheme apparently involves a computerized call which attempts to get you to say YES in order to attempt to obtain information.
The West Long Branch Police Department does not solicit for donations. West Long Branch Police Officers are represented by PBA Local 141 which does have a periodic fund drive, but NOT over the phone.
In the case of any telephone solicitation for donations, always use caution. If you are unfamiliar with the solicitor or the organization they claim to represent, you should not provide your identifiers and financial information.
If you are ever in doubt, research BEFORE donating and do NOT be bullied into donating to anyone or any organization.
