Reminder: Keep vehicle doors locked at all times

The Torrance Police Department would like to remind you to lock your vehicle doors.  Suspects target vehicles that are unlocked.  Please lock your vehicle doors at all times!

Here are some tips to help prevent thefts from vehicles:

  • Keep personal valuables, such as handbags, wallets, textbooks, laptops, cell phones, etc., out of plain view.
  • When parking, check that all doors and your trunk are locked and  that you have your keys with you.
  • Place valuables in your trunk BEFORE you reach your final destination.  Suspects may be watching.
  • Park in a well-lighted area.
  • “See Something, Say Something!” If you see anyone looking into vehicles, call the Police.

The Torrance Police Department will soon be discontinuing its subscription to Nixle.  To continue receiving Alerts, Advisories, and Community Messages from the City of Torrance, sign up now for TorranceAlerts!!
