Moment of silence tomorrow, March 12, at 2:38 p.m. in remembrance of fallen U.S. Forest Service Officer Jason Crisp and K-9 Maros
The McDowell 911 communications center will lead the county in a moment of silence at 2:38 p.m. Thursday, March 12 in remembrance of fallen U.S. Forest Service Office Jason Crisp and K-9 Maros.
Crisp and Maros died in the line of duty a year ago Thursday during a manhunt for a double murder suspect in Burke County. Crisp was a former McDowell County sheriff's deputy and was still a reserve for our office when he was killed. He and Maros aided law enforcement and emergency workers in McDowell on numerous cases over the years.
"We encourage law enforcement and emergency services personnel, as well as the public, to observe a moment of silence or prayer for Jason during this time," said Sheriff Dudley Greene.
Please continue to keep the Crisp family in your prayers.
