Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews have completed repairs to the 12-inch water main on Waialae Avenue between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue in Kaimuki. Water service has been restored to all affected customers at approximately 12:30 a.m. Crews are now in the process of repairing and restoring the roadway. During the road repair process one Ewa-bound lane and all Diamond Head-bound lanes of Waialae Avenue between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue will remain closed. Barring any unforeseen circumstances the repairs to the roadway will be completed at approximately 8:00 a.m. At the completion of road restoration, the roadway will be turned over to Hawaiian Telcom to conduct repairs to a manhole and cables, which sustained damages from the main break.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution when driving near the work area and to use alternate routes where possible.
