Seymour Man Killed In Three Vehicle Crash In Reddington

Seymour – A Seymour man was killed Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on US 31 in Reddington.

According to Indiana State Police Master Trooper Tommy Walker, around 8:32 AM a red 2002 Dodge Durango driven by Joshua Reed 25, of Seymour was traveling south on US 31 near CR 1000 N when it went across the center lines and struck a brown 1999 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck driven by Mike Hatfield 57, of Seymour. The Dodge Durango continued southbound in the northbound lane where it struck head-on a white 2007 International tractor-trailer that was driven by Curtiss Luenebrink 52, of Seymour. The Dodge Durango spun around and went off the road, ejecting Reed from the vehicle.

Reed was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma at the scene. Hatfield and his two passengers were not injured. Luenebrink was uninjured as well.

Speed was a contributing cause of this crash.

Master Trooper Walker was assisted at the scene by Jackson County Sheriff Department, Jackson County EMS, Jackson County Coroner’s Office, Jackson County Emergency Management, Redding Township Volunteer Fire Department and 31 Wrecker cleared the crashed vehicles from the scene.
