Andy Bailey Memorial 5K

Lace up your shoes and prepare for the Jackson Police Department’s 1st Annual Andy Bailey Memorial 5K run/1-mile walk at 9 a.m. May 16. The race will begin at the Jackson Police Department and proceed through the streets of Jackson.

This race will also be part of a community fun festival event, which will include games, educational booths, jumpers for the kids, access to law enforcement vehicles, and food and refreshments from local vendors.

Sergeant Andy Bailey was a 30-year veteran of the Jackson Police Department who was killed in the line of duty on June 17, 2004. The Andy Bailey Memorial 5K run/1 mile walk will be held annually during the month of May in conjunction with National Police Memorial Week. This special week is a time when officers, family members and communities remember fallen officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

All proceeds raised will go to the Jackson Police Department Community Fund, which is administered by the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation and used to provide support to Jackson community members when needed.
