Odessa man dies after crash near Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE, Wash. (06MAR2015) – A 56-year-old Odessa man died today from injuries suffered in a pickup versus tractor-trailer crash about 10:15 a.m. today east of Moses Lake.
Michael Walter was driving a 1996 Chevrolet pickup westbound on North Frontage Road East when he failed to stop at Road N-Northeast and was struck by a northbound 1998 Peterbilt driven by James Rivera, 33 of Moses Lake.
Walter was flown by MedStar helicopter to Confluence Health-Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee where he was pronounced dead.
A passenger in the pickup, Robert N. Kleinhans III, 38 of Quincy, was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. He is in serious but stable condition in the intensive care unit.
Rivera was not hurt.
The intersection was closed for 10 hours while Grant County Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit deputies conducted their investigation.
