WIDESPREAD THEFT OF COPPER WIRE

Dear Neighborhood Watch members,

Please take note, Public Works has been losing thousands of feet of electrical copper wire, directly from their junction boxes, throughout the valley.

Areas north of Rinaldi have been recently hit and it is suspected most of the thefts are occurring at nighttime.

Thieves are opening the ground junction boxes and are rolling out hundreds of feet of wire at the time. Sometimes the thieves will wear reflector vests to simulate official workers. Do not be fooled.

Public Works renders service in City marked vehicles. They generally, do not service junction boxes at night and illegal activity should be rather obvious to spot.

As always use 911 for all crimes in progress and 1-877-275-5273 for all other non-emergency police needs.
